New Orleans native S. Derby Gisclair attended Loyola University New Orleans (1971–1973), receiving his B.A. in liberal arts. He recently retired from the investment management consulting industry after 35-years. Mr. Gisclair joined Loyola’s Board of Trustees in 2008 and serves as chair of the Board’s Institutional Advancement Committee. A noted baseball and sports historian, he has authored several books on baseball history, numerous articles on sports history for New Orleans Magazine and Louisiana Cultural Vistas, and more than fifty entries on Louisiana athletes for KnowLouisiana.org, the digital encyclopedia of Louisiana. Mr. Gisclair is a frequent speaker at regional and national baseball conferences.
